Project title : Interculturalité, mise en réseau et écocitoyenneté sur
la région de Brioude.
This project is an opportunity to learn French culture and language within
cultural and social associations. We need people able to adapt to the rural
conditions (Brioude is a 7000 inhabitants village) and motivated to share an
intercultural experience. Musikado is the main coordinator of the project, the
volunteers work on different missions with our different partners; however the
most important is the social café: ‘café lecture’. Musikado team organizes
musical events, intercultural seminars and proposes video workshops.
Musikado pays the accommodation
and food and the volunteers get 115€ of pocket money per month.

Tasks of
volunteer:
The
volunteer will work on the following fields:

Support of the " Café-Lecture"
of Brioude, opened since 2009. This cultural association runs a cultural café
that offers a library and artistic events. The volunteer will spend there on
average two days per week or 15h/20h per week.

Working in a youth center “brin
de ficelle”: helping in a games library and playing with young children, on
average 10h per week.

Different missions with
opportunities :
Work
in a public garden, Youth Information (in cooperation with the Mission Locale
of Brioude), Creation of a stand « Europe » (mobility programmes,
european cultures); Diffusion of information during cultural events (concerts,
video contests); creation of a blog about the european projects and the work of
Musikado (EVS, exchanges, etc.) http://musikado.blogspot.fr/
Information about Europe in the high
schools: creation of some presentations, exhibitions of the culture of their
country and diffusion in the classrooms; a support and a practice of the foreign
languages; cooperation with teachers for the realisation of educative projects
realised by youth with a main theme: “Europe”; presentation of the Youth
Program (for students and teachers).
Events: in cooperation with local partners, our volunteer will participate
in the organisation of cultural events: cultural programmation of the town of
Brioude and some other associatons.
Video : Creation of video spots promoting activities of the civil
society organisation of Brioude and its region, or on educative theme ( health,
intercultural seminars, environment etc); support of the creation of music clips
for youth local bands; support of the realisation of video trainings for local
youth.

In
the same time volunteer will have an opportunity and a space for a personal
project. It can be
either in the frame of the topics pre-mentionned or artistic
/ cultural activity relate with the culture of the volunteer.
Help in organisation of concerts and musical events; music rehearsal
studios: management of backline, realisation of music demo, creation of musical
project.
Those activities will be realised under the leading of the sound engineer (member of Musikado).

Working hours and days off:
The volunteer will work 30/35 hours per week (training
including) from Monday to Friday and has 2 days of holidays per month. Sometimes,
for some specific events, it can be that the volunteer can be asked to work
during the week-end. Then she/he will get free days during the following week.
Language training:
The
volunteers will attend particular classes during their stay. She/he will attend
lessons according to her/his French level (4h/week). Furthermore she/he will
have the occasion to practice French with the people from Brioude.
Training and support
The volunteer will be supervised by his mentor,
Frédéric Giroux. They will meet at least once a week for evaluation-preparation
meeting, and the volunteer will be supported for the job training. All the organizations
involved in the project are ten minutes from Musikado’s office.
The volunteer
will get some short trainings:
- realisation of
video spots: scenario, filming, editing and projection ;
- realisation and diffusion of information material: brochures, posters, expositions;
- organisation of concerts: promotion, organisation, installation of material, sound & lights ;
Musikado members includes around 10 musicians, one sound engineer, a video responsable, a webmaster, a professional photographer, 2 computer designers.
